Melissa (Missy) York
Owner/Agent
Originally from Hillsboro Illinois, I have lived in Palestine since my husband and I were married in May 2003.
I graduated from Illinois State University in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in agronomy and spent 12 years working in the agriculture industry.
I started my insurance career in October 2015 and purchased Palestine Insurance Agency in January 2017.
My family has been in the insurance industry for more than 40 years, and since 2008, has owned and run two independent agencies in Hillsboro and Harvel, Illinois.
I am a member of the Palestine, Robinson, and Hutsonville, Illinois chambers of commerce. I am a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Robinson, Illinois, where I serve on the pastoral council and am a Eucharistic Minister. I was also a member of the 183rd Fighterwing of the Illinois Air National Guard from 1997-2004.
My husband Joel and I farm here in Palestine, Illinois and raise Black Angus cattle. We have two sons. Cody is 18 and a 2023 graduate of Palestine High School. He is involved in showing Angus cattle, including at national competitions, golf, bass fishing, 4-H and FFA. Brady is 13, shows cattle with his brother, and also competes in national competitions. He is likewise involved in 4-H, and loves playing baseball.
I am excited to be in the insurance business now and ready to share all I have learned and all I will continue to learn with my current and all new customers that grace our doors.
